The Style Stars of 2014

With a new year comes a new flock of fashion icons. 2014 was full of red carpet moments that will go down in history–but let’s not be quick to forget the women who donned the show-stopping numbers. Here’s a round up of the rookies who dominated the style scene this past year in some of the most stunning ensembles we’ve had the chance to feast our eyes on.

Lupita Nyong’o

Lupita Nyong’o may have become an overnight Hollywood sensation for her work in 12 Years a Slave, but she has also earned a special place in the fashion industry. Thanks to her stylist Micaela Erlanger, Nyong’o slayed during award season–first wowing us at the Golden Globes in a red off-the-shoulder Ralph Lauren gown complete with a cape, and continued to stun in an array of jaw-dropping looks. Whether she’s wearing a tailored gown with simple styling or rocking a beaded dress with feather embellishment, she nails it every time.

Gigi Hadid

It’s no secret that Gigi Hadid has become model of the moment, but it’s her impeccable personal style that makes her the “It” girl of 2014. Dressing for the red carpet evidently comes second nature to the 19-year-old.

Amal Alamuddin

Ever since Amal Alamuddin first made headlines for being engaged to George Clooney, she’s become a global beacon of style. The lawyer and activist’s wardrobe repertoire consists of tailored pantsuits, gorgeous gowns, and ladylike dresses that are fit for any occasion.

Nicole Peltz

Nicola Peltz turned heads this year during her Transformer: Age of Extinction press tour in minimalist looks consisting of a peekaboo Prada dress and a cop top paired with high-waist pants. It’s hard to believe she’s only 19, given her incredibly well put together style.

Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner paved her way to becoming a true top model this past year–along with off-the-runway style star. Whether she’s wearing a thigh-bearing Yigal Azrouël dress or a strapless pantsuit, her personal sense of fashion has truly evolved thanks partly to her stylist Monica Rose.
