My April Favourites

I can’t believe April is almost over. Time needs to slow down because I just can’t keep track of it anymore. There were so many things I needed to accomplish this month, but I definitely didn’t get to all of them. I need to start making lists and marking things down in my planner, which I haven’t been using much lately. I did however try out a bunch of new products I absolutely loved and thought I’d share them with you.

DSC_0006When it comes to nails, mine are always painted. So it was only intended I’d purchase some new colours now that it’s finally spring. I picked up these two from Urban Outfitters (they have the best selection of shades!); one in the colour ‘Marsala’, which is the Pantone Colour of the Year, and the second in ‘Little Boy Blue.’

DSC_0003Modern Muse by Estée Lauder was a different pick for me. I received it as a present for my birthday and I surprisingly love it. I normally don’t tend to like “powdery” scents but this has definitely become a favorite of mine.

DSC_0008I’ve had a love-hate (mostly hate) relationship with dry shampoos….until now. This Bumble and Bumble miracle is everything. I am so glad I gave it a shot because I was ready to give up on the whole dry shampoo concept. What I love most about this product is that it doesn’t leave your hair feeling gross; which seemed to be the case with the other two I tried.

DSC_0005 This lip gloss has become my go-to lip product on days when I just can’t pick a shade. DDM Cosmetics is a new, up and coming lip brand and it has me completely hooked. (Read my review here.) It’s non-stick formula makes this product so much more desirable. I’m also obsessed with the colour, which comes off as a natural nude with a hint of shimmer.

DSC_0022When it comes to earrings, I prefer studs. Mostly because I have big ears and I rather not draw any attention to them. My mom gifted me these earlier this month and I have been obsessed with them. A classic pair to add to my collection of jewels!

DSC_0025These shoes have been my go-to pair this entire month. I purchased them from Aldo last summer but didn’t get much wear out of them because the suede material really made my feet sweat. And so I packed them away and decided to revisit them now that it’s spring. They go with pretty much anything and can easily be used to dress up an outfit, or be worn casually.

The handbag is from Zara. It comes with a strap but I’ve been using it as a clutch, which makes it easier to carry.

DSC_0009I am a huge Marina and the Diamonds fan so when she released her latest album entitled Froot earlier this month, I just had to purchase it. It’s quite different from her previous album Electra Heart; think Lady Gaga meets techno with a splash of Lana Del Rey. Either way, incredible!

DSC_0011 Saving the best for last, my favorite book of the month was Very Good Lives by the queen, J.K. Rowling. It’s basically the speech she gave at Harvard a few years ago and it really put me in an uplifting state of mind. If you’re at a rough patch in your life or have just been really down, I’d definitely suggest this book. It’s a quick read and I promise you, it’ll put a smile on your face, even if it’s only for a little while.
