Beauty haul: 2014 summer essentials

CHANEL-Spring-Summer-2014-Haute-Couture-makeup_backstage-application-closer-and-closerMakeup used to be a once in a while type regime for me. But after being surrounded by my lovely former retail co-workers, I gave it a shot and fell in love with so many products that don’t make me look like a cake-face. I prefer light, natural makeup that emphasizes your beauty; not hides it. Here are my FIVE must-have beauty products for the summer season. Enjoy!

NARS
NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, Sephora, $42

During the fall/winter seasons, I use a Lancôme foundation which is light as air. So for summer, I wanted something that was even lighter. That’s when I discovered NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer. You don’t need a fancy brush to apply–just use your fingertips– and it feels like any regular moisturizer but evens out the skin without feeling like there’s anything on your face. Tres incroyable!

DIOR Diorskin Nude Skin Perfecting Hydrating Concealer, Sephora, $32

Finding the perfect concealer was one of the biggest tasks for me. I have the darkest dark circles thanks to my mother (I still love you) and so finding a product that actually covers it up has been quite the challenge. But alas, after years of trials and errors, I found the one. This Diorskin Nude Concealer is everything I’ve been looking for. You can put on buckets and buckets, layers upon layers, and it does NOT crack.

tarte Amazonian Clay Mineral Bronzer, tartecosmetics.com, $36

THIS is my very first bronzer purchase (don’t judge) and I’m very happy with it. Makes me look tanner so I guess it’s doing what it’s supposed to?

LE VOLUME DE CHANEL, chanel.com, $30

This Chanel product is the most amazing mascara you will ever come across, I promise you. Not only does it give you volume, it does so in the most natural way possible. No clumps!

Yves Saint Laurent VOLUPTÉ SHEER CANDY – Glossy Balm, Sephora, $39

My all time favorite lip product is indeed the YSL glossy balm. Perfect for summer–and every other season–if you are looking for something sheer or with colour even. It keeps your lips hydrated at all times and gives you a sheer glossy finish.
