Summertime is the one season where I cut down on my shopping because a) it only lasts about three months here in Toronto, and b) I don’t like colour so why spend my limited funds on things I’ll probably never wear again.
I mean, I adore summer dresses and trousers but this year, I’ve acquired a collection of tops that I hope to recycle in the fall.
This satin straight-neck cami from TOPSHOP is everything. It’s simple, classic and best of all, it can be worn with or without a bra–bonus!
A basic tee is essential; as is powder blue this summer season. I’m in love with this Sunday Best Ellison top from Aritzia. Super comfy and pairs really well with cuffed trousers if you’re going for a laid-back yet dressed up look.
Finding that perfect summer blouse can be a toughie–you need the perfect balance between casual and flowyness. After a month of searching, this shirt with wide sleeves from ZARA made the cut. I love that its got frill but not too much. And the polka dots just make me very happy.
Crop tops. A trend that has taken over planet earth by storm. Now if only people would actually wear them the way they are supposed to be worn…but that’s a topic I don’t want to get into right now. This is my first, and only crop top I actually own. The thing that really drew me into purchasing it was the print. I mean, how often do you come across a monochrome palm-printed crop top? Almost never! It’s usually gonna be extremely bright and green and in your face (yuck!). And the fit is exquisite so I just needed it in my life.
