Balmain’s creative director Olivier Rousteing has had quite the week–starting with an interview gig backstage at the Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show in London, and finally ending with a colourful finish in the form of a Spring 2015 ad campaign featuring some of the biggest models in the game.
Adriana Lima, Joan Smalls, Rosie Hungtington-Whiteley, Isabeli Fontana, and Crista Cober are shot by Mario Sorrenti in bold looks serving as their uniform. But no Rousteing campaign is complete without a twist.
The “Balmain Army” are placed in some very un-supermodel like situations, like feasting on hamburgers and fries, as well as playing a rousing game of classic Nintendo with popcorn and cola cans strewn about.
“Balmain is all about diversity,” Rousteing said in a release about the upcoming ads. “The incredible power that all those strong women bring in front of the camera, put into real life situations, helped me explore and create a new reality that represents the pop aspect of my generation.”
Keep your eyes peeled for the full campaign, which will make its official debut in the February 2015 issues of fashion glossies everywhere.
