2016 Oscar Gown Predictions

The Academy Awards may be the biggest night in Hollywood, but next to the MET Gala, it’s also the biggest red carpet event of the year. The films are important of course, but it’s the dresses that make the pre-show worth watching. Here’s my list of dress predictions for this year’s Oscar red caper elite.

ValentinoCate Blanchett can do no wrong when it comes to picking her red carpet dress. This Grecian-inspired Valentino couture gown on the Oscar-nominated actress would be a fashion moment made in heaven.

Zuhair MuradBrie Larson is the talk of Tinseltown this award season. Who better to dress her than the king of red carpet fashion, Zuhair Murad? This blush pink couture gown with plunging neckline and intricate embroidery is effortlessly stunning.

Christian DiorAn unusual pick, perhaps! But on Saoirse Ronan, this little Christian Dior couture number would be a dream.

ChanelJennifer Lawrence will undoubtedly wear Dior again, but part of me is hoping she’ll go for this Chanel spring couture gown. A definite best dressed contender.

Armani PriveRooney Mara is a known risk-taker on the red carpet. Her signature bold lip paired with this Armani Privé slip dress would be perfection.

Elie SaabAlicia Vikander has quickly become a red carpet favourite for her effortless style. It’s time she goes for something a bit more jaw-dropping, like this stunning Elie Saab spring 2016 couture gown.

Badgley MischkaIf anyone can rock minimalism on the red carpet, it would be Rachel McAdams. This metallic-chiffon Badgley Mischka dress is an obvious stunner.
