How To Wear Spring/Summer 2017’s Hottest Fashion Trends

This season, it’s all about making a statement – whether its through colour, pattern or aesthetic. Here are the top five trends that graced the runways of the spring/summer 2017 runway shows, plus the top pieces that are currently on my wish list!

Modern Bohemian

Embroidered Denim Skit, Anthropologie

This season’s bohemian cool girl is as far from the Coachella stereotype as they come; think earthy tones, organic fabrics and an eclectic edge. I am obsessing over the embroidery done on this mid-length denim skirt from Anthropologie. [Price: $168]

Bold Stripes

Brisbane Jumpsuit, Reformation

If there’s one trend that always makes an appearance during fashion month, it’s stripes! For spring/summer 2017, designers went bold with either bright primary colours or a more monochromatic aesthetic. I, obviously, gravitate towards the black and white. How chic is this jumpsuit? [Price: $198 USD]

Shocking Pink

GG Marmont Leather Mini Chain Bag, Gucci

Pink is the “it” colour for spring/summer 2017. While we saw a ton of blush pinks at the New York, London and Milan shows, it was the deep fuchsias and magentas that dominated the runways in Paris. I don’t think my heart could handle wearing such a vibrant hue, but I wouldn’t mind accessorizing with a barbie pink Gucci purse! [Price: $1,675]

Micro Florals

Wilfred Réplique Dress, Aritzia

Splashy florals never die and this season, they came in small nostalgic sprigs where they put a ’50s spin on the trend with feminine frills. Anyone else swooning over this Wilfred chiffon dress? [Price: $198]

Poplin Stop With Pleated Sleeves, Zara

Typically, yellow isn’t the most wearable colour. But that didn’t stop designers across all four fashion capitals from creating looks in shades from mustard and marigold to saffron and sunflower. I think I’m more in love with the sleeves here than the colour itself. [Price: $49.90]
