Every year, H&M collaborates with a high-end designer to create a lower-end line for the average-earning folk. This year, it was Canadian-born, London-based Erdem Moralioglu – a master of florals, coats and gowns.
This year, I was lucky enough to have gotten an invite to a pre-shop the night before the collection hit stores. The entire collection was just stunning but I had to budget and pick pieces that I would actually wear. Evidently that plan backfired because I ended up purchasing the stunning ball gown.
I had seen photos online and I was so curious to see what it would actually look like on me. The minute I tried it on in the change room, I fell head-over-heels. It literally fit me like a glove. As if Erdem himself had custom made it just for me. So I bought it.
The floral motif can be seen across a lot of the pieces in this collection except on this dress, it’s embroidered. It’s a showstopping piece that is timeless and I just know I’ll get a lot of wear out of it in the coming years.
For this look, I decided to keep it simple with dainty rings and holographic shoes that are bold, but do not overshadow this dress at all. Oh, and did I mention this dress has pockets? Yeah…perfection!
I also picked up a silk pyjama-style blouse and a pair of gorgeous earrings, which I will be shooting in the coming weeks so stay tuned for that!
