While I have found a true appreciation for denim since moving to London, my love for trousers will forever run deep.
Straight-legged suiting has been on the rise in womenswear for a while now. And while the Fall 2019 runways favoured a more feminine approach to the trend, I’m more into the masculine edge that undoubtedly looks great on women.
These contrasting checkered trousers are from Zara and they have a bit of a masculin look to it, which I really like. I don’t typically go for the wide-leg style because, well, I have zero curves and end up looking like I’m being engulfed by the pants. But this pair has a bit of a baggy look, which somehow makes it ok.
Here, I’ve paired it with a cropped knitted sweater but if I wanted to dress it up a little, go for a more feminine look, I can easily do so with a lace body suit and some strappy heels.
This particular look is perfect for work, but also a weekend spent shopping or strolling around South Kensington. While the look of these trousers is more trendy than timeless, it’s a style that will come back into trend over and over.
