It’s June. I can’t believe I haven’t blogged in four months! Apologies for the gap in posts but life has been pretty mundane. We’ve been in lockdown since November and so I haven’t been doing much aside from working, trying to stay active and testing out different recipes. Ontario is finally slowly opening things up again on Friday and I couldn’t be happier. Here’s to hoping it actually remains open so we can have a decent summer. Oh, and be able to wear all the clothes and shoes I have accumulated over the last year.
First up, the most perfect black summer dress. It’s from Joe Fresh, currently on sale and well, you NEED it. It’s a linen blend so it doesn’t get super wrinkly, which I like. It has elastic cuffs making it versatile when it comes to styling whether you want an off-the-shoulder look or shoulders covered. I went for an off-the-shoulder look because it was extremely hot and I wanted to show off my favourite necklaces. The shorter one is from Missoma based in London, and the other is Melanie Auld based in Vancouver. I highly recommend both if you’re into gold-plated, dainty jewelry for everyday wear.
I was feeling fancy so I paired this dress with a pair of Bottega kitten heel dupes I bought from Nasty Gal last summer. They’re incredibly comfortable and pair well with a lot of my summer clothes. My Polène bag has been my go-to lately. The terracotta colour is just so flattering and incredibly wearable. And of course, no summer look is complete without a pair of signature sunglasses. I love my Kate Spade round sunnies! They’re super flattering and my go-to pick for sunny days.
I hope that wherever you are, you’re well.
